Christchurch Santa Parade 2010

I was advised by Pam that the 2010 Santa Parade is to be held Sunday December 5 at 2pm. Postponement date Sunday December 12 at 2pm.

As Canterbury Indonesian community may be participating with a float, please discuss this in our forums.

She also advises that the Christchurch Children’s Christmas Parade Trust looks forward to your support once again.
Just a couple of housekeeping issues……..

1. She will be having a meeting with the Police very soon and would appreciate any feedback regarding their actions at the end of the parade. Some incidents have already been reported. Rather than being there to prevent accidents they have almost caused accidents. Threatening to issue tickets to any vehicle carrying participants caught leaving the parade route to disband in a side street has also caused dissent, so much so, some groups are considering not participating. The Trust will do everything possible to resolve this issue and ensure everyone continues to have fun and enjoy participating.
2. Did anyone get stopped by a Police Officer at any of the intersections along Moorhouse Ave., to let traffic through, once the parade had started?
3. Was anyone threatened with a ticket along the parade route because they didn’t have their seat belt on?

If anyone has an issue with the police, other than mentioned above, please discuss in our forums.
